I want you take a quick second and think. Who are your role models? Who do you consider women worth following, or women who seem to have it all figured out?
We all know these types of women – the kind that seem to just be happy being themselves. They likely have achieved some form of success and, when you speak with them, make you feel as though you’re the only person in the room.
Do you know women like this? I hope so. But what I hope for you more than anything is that you can BECOME a woman like this.
So, you might be wondering: how can I do this? How can I be someone worth knowing?
The answer is far simpler than you realize: it’s all about your mindset.
In order for you to achieve financial, personal, and professional success, you’ll need to adopt a “wealthy mindset” – that is, you’ll need to envision yourself achieving the success and living the life you so badly desire for yourself.
How can you arrive at this desired destination? Here are our top 5 tips to improve your mental focus and help you achieve that “wealthy mindset”:
1. Get organized.
In many ways, how you project yourself (and how you currently live your life) says a lot about you and your ideals. If you’re living in a chaotic environment and/or feel constantly spinning on the hamster wheel of life, then perhaps you need to take a moment to ground yourself and get organized.
Hop aboard the Marie Kondo train and get rid of (or better yet, donate!) that which no longer serves you or gives you joy. Purge, clean, declutter, and get organized. Having an uncluttered lifestyle can help you achieve that uncluttered peace of mind and make you more likely to arrive at that blissful destination.
2. Be solutions-oriented.
The next time you find yourself in a pickle (which, to be honest, we all do sometimes because #adultingishard), try to take the solutions-oriented approach. Instead of complaining or lamenting the situation you find yourself in, try your hardest to focus on finding a viable solution. They say that things turn out the best for those that make the best out of the way things turn out. Embrace this attitude and search furiously for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. If you look hard enough, you just might find it.
3. Do what you can. Outsource what you can’t.
Have you ever seen that quote that circulates on Instagram and Pinterest that reads: “You have the same amount of hours in the day as Beyoncé”? Here’s the thing: while that certainly is true, it’s very (more like DEFINITELY) possible that Beyoncé is outsourcing a good chunk of her daily tasks. The secret of successful, wealthy people is that they tend to be fairly aware of what they can and cannot do. The next time you feel overwhelmed by that task list, take a moment to re-evaluate. What can you delegate to a friend or colleague? What tasks can be taken off your plate or given to someone far more qualified or able (…or even just someone willing to help)? A simple example: ask your kids to help! While little kiddos are often better at creating messes than cleaning them, those little hands can be so helpful at the end of long day and may make clean-up much easier AND more fun!
4. Live within (or below!) your means.
The best way to ensure you achieve those goals and dreams you have for yourself? Afford them. Establish a budget and determine exactly what you need vs. what you want. The secret to truly living a life you can afford often lies with being financially prepared, establishing priorities, and spending mindfully. If you can, aim to live within your means at all costs. You’ll be surprised how well you can position yourself for long-term financial security and success if you prioritize your future happiness as much as your current happiness.
5. Collect experiences, not things.
While the abundance mentality is certainly real for so many, consider aiming to build a life rich with experiences rather than just a life full of material possessions. Having a wealthy mindset means living with intention and living a life full of meaningful traditions, travels, and experiences. While having nice things can give you that quick burst of happiness, the feeling is unfortunately, very fleeting. Focus on building a wealth of knowledge and a treasure of stories instead. You’ll likely find yourself all the more happier for it.
